Optionally Identifiable Private Handshakes

چکیده
It is now a trend that Internet users are increasingly concerned about individual privacy, and as a result numerous privacy-preserving authentication techniques have been proposed. In this paper, we propose the concept of private handshakes with optional identifiability, which allows the two users in a handshake deciding real time to either proceed their interaction as secret handshake or as private handshake. Such optionally identifiable private handshakes are a more flexible privacy-preserving authentication primitive than secret handshakes and private handshakes. We formulate a formal definition for optionally identifiable private handshakes, as well as a set of security definitions. We then propose a concrete scheme, which is provably secure with respect to the formulated security definitions under the Bilinear Diffie-Hellman (BDH) assumption. We implement a proof-ofconcept prototype of the proposed scheme, on top of the widely used TLS protocol.

A Flexible Framework for Secret Handshakes
In the society increasingly concerned with the erosion of privacy, privacy-preserving techniques are becoming very important. This motivates research in cryptographic techniques offering built-in privacy. A secret handshake is a protocol whereby participants establish a secure, anonymous and unobservable communication channel only if they are members of the same group. This type of “private” au...

Private handshaking allows pairs of users to determine which (secret) groups they are both a member of. Group membership is kept secret to everybody else. Private handshaking is a more private form of secret handshaking [BDS03], because it does not allow the group administrator to trace users. We extend the original definition of a handshaking protocol to allow and test for membership of multip...

متن کاملCryptanalysis of Efficient Unlinkable Secret Handshakes for Anonymous Communications
Several unlinkable secret handshakes schemes have been proposed in recent years. As performing the successful secret handshakes is essentially equivalent to computing a common key between two interactive members of the same group. Therefore secret handshakes scheme is a key agreement protocol between two members of the same group. So it is necessary for a secret handshakes scheme to fulfill sec...
متن کاملSybil Belief: A Semi- Creation New Approach for Structure –Based Sybil Detection
Sybil attacks are a fundamental threat to the security of distributed system. There has been a growing interest in leveraging social network to mitigate Sybil attacks. We introduce Sybil belief a semi supervised learning framework to detect Sybil nodes. Sybil Belief takes a social network of the nodes in the system, a small set of known benign nodes, and, optionally, a small set of known Sybil’...
